Junior Technology Learning & Development Specialist

Opportunity This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office (hybrid). Training, which can last up to 90 days, must be performed on‑site. The role develops and delivers live trainings for attorneys and business services professionals on firm‑supported applications. It conducts instructor‑led sessions within Skadden offices and leads remote sessions via video conference. The specialist works with the TL&D team to create training resources, including documentation, videos, and eLearning packages for the firm’s learning management system. Responsibilities Provide a consistent and high level of customer service. Prepare, organize, conduct, and promote View email address on click.appcast.io training programs. Deliver supported firm software and hardware training. Assist with the development of TL&D content, including documentation, videos, and eLearning packages for the firm’s LMS. Collaborate with the Global TL&D Manager and Regional TL&D Supervisor to ensure availability and timely access to firm‑provided programs, new training initiatives, handouts, class syllabi, etc. Assist with identifying training needs and communicate with the Global TL&D Manager and Regional TL&D Supervisor to develop uniform global training offerings. Provide weekly work status reports. Present technology orientations to new arrivals, ensuring a professional "Day One" training experience. Provide customized training in accordance with specific needs of individuals or groups. Provide feedback to management and recommend further training, assessment, and follow‑ups accordingly. Provide global training in accordance with the needs of the firm. Monitor "Work Strategies" SharePoint for TL&D content. Monitor ITSM/ISM to identify TL&D opportunities. Provide continuing education training as requested. Demonstrate logic, reasoning skills, analysis, and interpretation to resolve problems. Work with colleagues to maintain and improve the standardization of View email address on click.appcast.io offerings. Schedule core technology training classes via the Professional Development & Events calendar and internal training calendar. Test and evaluate core and compliance‑based training modules within the firm’s LMS. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others. Manage firm resources responsibly. Maintain a regular and reliable physical presence to use on‑site equipment and conduct in‑person training consistent with the needs of the position. Comply with and understand firm operations, policies, and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Demonstrates proficiency in delivering live training. Consistent demonstration of preparedness for presentations. Understands technical aspects of firm applications while delivering associated trainings. Demonstrates proficiency in relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PDF software, etc.) with the ability to learn additional software and operating systems. Thorough working knowledge of firm systems, including, but not limited to: Citrix, NetDocuments, mobile device technology and apps, Webex, Zoom, DTE Axiom, Aderant Expert Time, Emburse, Litera Change‑Pro & Metadact, Power PDF, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit, Windows and macOS operating environments, Legal Technology systems, and other relevant legal applications. A broad knowledge of IT, telecommunications, and network systems. Can adapt to different situations and is capable of covering activities ranging from basic first‑line support to assisting with global projects and communications to management. Can operate independently and understand when to elevate issues. Provides excellent customer service through effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates close attention to detail. Can handle multiple projects and shifting priorities. Can handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality. Can organize and prioritize work. Can work well in a demanding and fast‑paced environment. Can work well independently as well as effectively within a team. Flexibility to travel. Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Salary Base salary: $65,000 - $70,000. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job‑related factors, consistent with applicable law.
