- Hiring Process: Candidate Interview Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement - Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted - Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are remote Unit ER/ED - Trauma Level? STEMI Receiving? Stroke Center? Level 3 Trauma Center - Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER? mixed - Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms? no - On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day? "average 25 patients per day" - Nurse: Patient Ratios 1:4-5 based on acuity - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS?) ACLS,BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC - Common diagnoses/Types of patients Abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, penumonia, trauma, stroke, HTN - Common drips? standard ER medications - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? yes - Nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters? Ratios? Duties? Techs that support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor as well as assist in triage. - Is RT in the ER 24/7? Do they do ABG's, breathing Tx, & EKG's? RT available 24/7. They complete breathing treatments and ABGs - Do you have Monitor Techs in the ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the Tele monitors? no monitor tech, RN needs to be able to read an interpret tele - Does Phlebotomy draw labs or RN's draw? Will be trained and perform Point of Care lab testing - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?)
