Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Specialty Clinic provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting across various medical specialties. The role involves patient assessment, triage, education, care coordination, and assisting healthcare providers with procedures. The RN is expected to work independently and collaboratively, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality patient care and safety. Responsibilities:

• Triage incoming patient calls, assess needs, and provide appropriate advice or direction within scope of practice.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs using the nursing process.
• Counsel patients, provide education, take patient histories, perform screenings, and administer vaccinations and medications.
• Assist healthcare providers with procedures and examinations.
• Document patient care accurately in healthcare records according to established standards.
• Participate in policy development, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection prevention programs.
• Maintain professional effectiveness through ongoing education and development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and patient safety techniques.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency with computer systems, data entry, and electronic medical records.
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs unassisted and heavier weights with assistance.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and reliability with scheduling.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in an outpatient setting such as Family Practice, Surgical Center, or GYN.

Special Considerations:

• Must be flexible and willing to accept other duties as assigned.
• Work involves patient-facing care and requires adherence to infection prevention protocols.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
