Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Stepdown unit. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with cardiac conditions, ensuring safety, accurate monitoring, and effective treatment management.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage IV drips, including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin.
• Interpret EKG strips and dysrhythmias to assess patient status.
• Perform IV starts and ensure proper staff fitting for N95 or PAPR as required.
• Monitor and document patient responses, adjusting treatments accordingly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including rapid response to cardiac events and drug administration guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Must have EPIC experience for inpatient charting.
• Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before assignment.
• Hold active BLS, NIH certifications; ACLS preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG strips.
• Be able to start IVs and manage cardiac medication drips.
• Be available to work night shifts (3x12 hours) and every other weekend/holiday.
