About the Role:
KILO ENGINEERING LLC is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join their team in Marine on Saint Croix, MN. Responsibilities:

• Complete new hire safety and skill training 
• Perform technician-level field and lab tasks without supervision
• Perform entry-level engineering field, lab, and office tasks with limited supervision
• Perform intermediate-level engineering field, lab, and office tasks with supervision
• Perform project setup, including utility clearances, field plan preparation, personnel scheduling, and client communications
• Complete field explorations as needed, including soil borings, compaction testing, infiltration testing, and bearing capacity testing
• Complete and assign laboratory testing, including soil classifications, proctors, moisture contents, plasticity, gradation, and resistivity
• Analyze collected geotechnical data for hazard evaluation, construction recommendations, and design values in geotechnical reports
• Communicate clearly with clients about the findings of geotechnical reports and the associated impact on their proposed developments 
• Network with other engineers and potential clients to develop a professional network
• Proposal writing, including scope development, schedule evaluation, and cost estimation for basic projects with supervision
• Support senior engineers on intermediate and complex projects 
• Perform construction observation and materials testing to ensure compliance with project specifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
• 0–3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related consulting
• Valid U.S.-issued driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• Familiarity with soil mechanics, foundation design, and subsurface investigation methods
• Proficiency in geotechnical software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client interaction
• Ability to perform fieldwork in varying outdoor conditions and travel to project sites as needed
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a technical engineering environment
