Supervisor, Authorization, Full Time, Days ,Insurance Verification, Morristown, NJ Morristown, NJ, United States Job Description Summary: Supervises Authorization Specialist I, Authorization Specialist II and Authorization Team Leads. Generates weekly performance metrics and implements action plans to meet goals. Coordinates with external groups on escalated visits or workflow alignment. Responsibilities Supervise staff on day‑to‑day assignments and ensure all expected work is completed. Provide guidance on accurate workflows and monitor inbound and outbound authorization calls. Collect TOS cash and manage team assignments to prioritize high‑impact populations. Assist with onboarding and training of new hires to achieve on‑the‑job readiness. Escalate and troubleshoot issues to support operations and maintain coverage. Conduct routine quality audits of account activity and monitor denial trends. Oversee feedback on team productivity and quality and take corrective actions when needed. Execute regular employee evaluations and 1‑on‑1 meetings to assess performance. Communicate across departments with referring providers and answer inquiries about workflows. Calculate daily or weekly metrics for the authorization team. Build trust, motivate staff, and maintain a high‑performing team that sets priorities and makes sound judgments. Support team and department goals to enhance patient experience, safety, and revenue cycle outcomes. Qualifications Required: 3‑5 years of pre‑authorization experience (equivalent to an associate degree). All legally and reasonably expected certifications for the function and level. Preferred: Experience as a Patient Access Representative or Authorization Specialist.
