BFJ was founded in 2002 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. We are an accounting and advisory firm that provides consulting services to industries including construction, real estate, manufacturing, and franchise; and niche areas like professional services, trust and estate, and retail. Senior Tax Accountant A senior tax accountant should be able to work independently, complete work accurately and in a timely manner, and establish workload priorities. In addition, a senior tax accountant should contribute to a team environment, assisting those around them. Job Responsibilities Preparation of complex business and individual returns Review responsibility of simple business and individual returns Experience with multi-state tax filings Experience with complex tax issues related to acquisitions and purchase price allocations Communicate directly with clients regarding tax and bookkeeping matters Work independently to manage your workload and client relationships Contribute to the growth of the practice by taking on additional responsibilities as needed Adhere to strict deadlines and maintain high-quality standards in all work products Stay current with tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices through CPE and research Deliver guidance on tax planning and financial strategies with businesses and individuals Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members as the team grows Requirements Include 2+ years of tax experience Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar CPA license or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA license, including required coursework Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, demonstrated experience or ability to act as in-charge of tax relationships Demonstrates ability to solve problems and complete projects Compensation & Benefits The total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.
