Data Analyst II

Our client, a Global Leading Technology Company, is looking to hire a Data Analyst II in Cupertino, CA. Pay Rate Range: $40/hr. - $46.27/hr. on W2, depending on experience. Duration: 12-month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform denied party, restricted party, and sanctions screenings across multiple business programs and transactions.
  • Conduct export compliance reviews to ensure adherence to U.S. export control regulations and sanctions requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve potential matches generated through sanctions screening and trade compliance systems.
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence reviews on customers, vendors, suppliers, distributors, resellers, and other third parties to identify export control and sanctions risks.
  • Research individuals, organizations, and transactions utilizing internal systems, commercial databases, public records, and online investigative resources.
  • Evaluate screening results and determine appropriate disposition decisions in accordance with established compliance policies and procedures.
  • Analyze complex sanctions and export control alerts and document findings with clear, audit-ready recommendations.
  • Escalate high-risk activities, unusual findings, or potential violations involving sanctioned parties, export control concerns, terrorism financing, law enforcement inquiries, or other regulatory risks.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports and maintain accurate compliance documentation to support regulatory and business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with compliance, legal, operations, security, and business teams to address compliance-related matters.
  • Ensure investigations and reviews are completed within established service level agreements (SLAs) while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Support compliance initiatives, audits, process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, International Relations, International Trade, Law, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Export Compliance, Trade Compliance, Sanctions Compliance, or Regulatory Investigations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and OFAC sanctions regulations.
  • Hands-on experience conducting sanctions investigations, restricted party screenings, and compliance due diligence reviews.
  • Experience working with SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) or similar compliance screening platforms.
  • Proven ability to investigate companies, individuals, and transactions for export control and sanctions-related risks.
  • Experience reviewing and resolving sanctions and export screening alerts.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document investigative findings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, integrity, and commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
  • Self-starter with the flexibility and adaptability to learn new regulations, systems, and processes quickly.
