The Volunteer Coordinator at our Non-Profit Animal Adoption Center plays a vital role in managing and supporting a dedicated team of 20-50 volunteers. This position involves overseeing all aspects of volunteer engagement, including recruitment, training, and scheduling, to ensure smooth operations during animal care, adoption events, community education, and fundraising activities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the coordinator facilitates community outreach, maintains accurate records, and fosters volunteer retention through effective communication and support.

 

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for various animal care duties
• Coordinate volunteer participation in adoption events, fundraising, and educational programs
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and track hours and participation
• Communicate regularly with volunteers and provide ongoing support services
• Conduct community outreach to grow volunteer involvement
• Prepare reports on volunteer activities and program effectiveness
• Implement strategies to enhance volunteer retention and satisfaction
• Manage local travel arrangements related to volunteer events and outreach

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in volunteer coordination
