Certified Nurse MidwifeCampus - Casa Grande, AZ 85122OverviewPosition Type: Full-time Job Shift 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-FridayDescriptionStatement of PurposePromotes and maintains patient's health by providing midwifery services to the extent to which she/he is licensed and/or certified while collaborating with an OBGYN physician.Essential FunctionsPlan, direct, and evaluate patients in ambulatory health servicesIdentify short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommend options and course of actionAssess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical historiesSee ambulatory patients in the Clinic for selected laboratory testing, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuriesEither indirectly or directly provide health screenings such as pap smears, mammograms, and colorectal cancer screeningsPerform referrals to physicians as needed, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipmentWork with the OB/GYN Chair in the care and treatment of patientsSchedule follow-up visits in office as neededConfer with patient's private physicians as neededInstruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal and abnormal development information, discussing family planning, providing counseling on sexually transmitted diseases, discussing prenatal and postpartum issues and promoting wellness and health maintenanceProvide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plansAct as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of patientsDevelop the health care team by providing information, educational and experiential growth opportunitiesMaintain outpatient records by documenting patient care servicesRecord statistics and conduct research as deemed necessary by the organizationCompile necessary reports concerning ambulatory care at the facility as required or requestedCollaborate with staff to identify patient needs and help develop plans to meet these needsFollow the patient's health care as needed for continuity of careServe as a member of committees dealing with health careManage the Center's OBGYN patients who presents to the emergency department, L&D triage, or are directly admitted to L&D in coordination with the assigned collaborative physician during the CNM's assigned on call shiftsRespond to after-hours answering service calls and document in the Center's EMR as appropriateAdditional ResponsibilitiesMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societiesParticipate in in-service/education regarding Quality ImprovementParticipate in other assigned duties as designated by the OB/GYN Chair, Medical Director, or Chief Executive OfficerQualificationsEducation and Experience:Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner programMust be currently licensed in good standing as a Certified Nurse Midwife in the state of Arizona
