We are looking for an Assistant Manager who will act as a business owner in the marketplace, lead our team, and deliver key performance metrics while representing LensCrafters as a premier destination for vision needs. General Function The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing day‑to‑day operations and works in collaboration with Retail, Lab, and Doctor teams to drive business results. Major Duties & Responsibilities Delivers quality and improvement to meet or exceed all key performance indicators (KPIs): Comp Sales, % Sales to Plan; Conversion & Customer Count, Comp Growth; Increased Traffic; Store Operating Profitability; Continuity of Care, Exam Growth & Retention Goals; Net Promoter Score; Current year objectives Demonstrates understanding of retail business and applies knowledge to improve sales and business results, staying informed on competition and market trends. Diagnoses business performance and leverages Retail, Lab & Doctor synergies to drive positive results. Supports strategic business plans to maximize sales and profit, identifies strengths and opportunities for improvements. Partner with the Store Manager to lead the team through strong knowledge and skills. Provides training, guidance, and constructive feedback to team members in a timely manner. Informs the Store Manager of situations requiring development or disciplinary action. Participates in recruiting, selects high‑caliber team members, and creates a talent pipeline. Follows staffing guidelines to maintain optimal staffing levels. Maintains pride in store appearance and visual directive execution. Fosters a positive working relationship with doctors. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and meets or exceeds all goals. Anticipates problems, identifies underlying causes, and implements long‑term solutions. Executes administrative duties and ensures a safe working environment. Works a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Under current and valid state Opticianry license, performs: Provides product knowledge on lens choices based on patient vision needs and doctor prescriptions. Adjusts and/or repairs eyewear. Presents and dispenses eyewear, creating a lasting impression. Performs accurate digital measurements. Basic Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Current and valid state Opticianry license. 1+ year(s) management/supervisory experience with direct reports. Knowledge of retail operations, processes, and policies. Strong basic math skills. Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators. Strong command of the English language for written and oral communication. Strong communicator and listener. High level of selling skills. Proven ability to problem‑solve. Preferred Qualifications College degree or equivalent. Previous leadership experience in retail and customer service. Knowledge of basic optics. Knowledge of current store merchandise. State licensure (if applicable) or ABO Certification in non‑licensed states. Brand Final Inspector Certification. Brand Quality, Fitting & Adjusting Program. Pay Range: 25.77 - 40.19 Compensation includes competitive bonus and/or commission plans as part of a comprehensive benefits package, which may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and employee discounts.
