Position Faculty Dentist – Department 10143 Dental (Children’s National Hospital). Pay Range: $150,000.00–$450,000.00. Responsibilities Provide clinical dental care for pediatric patients in the hospital and approved community sites, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. Supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and students in pediatric dentistry. Participate in family‑centered care, communicate effectively with patients, families, and inter‑professional teams. Provide on‑call services as directed by division leadership. Engage in research of significant scientific value, peer‑review manuscript and grant applications, and publish in scientific journals. Participate in advocacy initiatives and contribute to public policy that promotes pediatric health. Teach and mentor trainees in clinical and academic settings, including orientation and feedback. Support quality and compliance programs, maintain complete clinical documentation, and participate in committees and quality assurance activities. Qualifications Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or DMD from an ADA‑accredited dental school. At least 2 years of experience treating infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs, in settings including sedation and general anesthesia. Hospital training and experience preferred; pediatric dental education at graduate level preferred. Unrestricted dental license in the District of Columbia and credentialed attending staff category physician on the medical staff of Children’s National Medical Center. Board certification in Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) required; board certification in a relevant secondary specialty preferred. Knowledge of current principles, ethical and legal standards for pediatric dental care, and ability to function independently in patient evaluation and care planning. Strong commitment to continuing education, quality improvement, and infection control.
