Clinical Research Recruiter (Part-Time)

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Hematology & Oncology, is seeking a Clinical Research Recruiter (Part-Time). General Responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, and performing follow-up with research participants as protocols dictate. The role also involves maintaining current contact information for all past, present, and potential study participants along with referring facilities. Additionally, the position requires creating and executing recruitment strategies based on the needs of the protocol. The recruiter may work evenings depending on study needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment of participants for a national research study through phone calls, including some evenings (5-8 pm) and weekends (Saturdays 9 am-5 pm). The recruiter will also be responsible for emailing and mailing study material to participants, attending team meetings, and providing regular updates to supervisors. There is an opportunity to develop skills in health services research, poster and oral presentation, and writing manuscripts for those interested, with dedicated mentoring. The recruiter will call patients to enroll in clinical trials, enter participant data into the database, and email participants. Other duties as assigned may also be required.

Hourly Range: $15.00 - $24.40

Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. Preferences include willingness to work nights and weekends and comfort speaking on the phone.
