Your role and responsibilities

IBM's Global Affairs organization shapes how the world understands IBM. We define and protect IBM's brand, advance the company's reputation, and bring IBM's strategy, innovation, values, and market leadership to life for clients, partners, media, employees, investors and communities.

Our work helps IBM earn trust, strengthen brand consideration, influence priority audiences, and create clarity around the company's point of view in the market.

As a Corporate Responsibility Intern, you will work on a project that addresses a strategic business challenge. In addition to your project work, the internship includes learning experiences, networking, and social activities. At the end of program, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your final outcomes to an audience of leaders and practitioners across the organization. This is a highly visible intern program with leadership exposure and mentorship throughout the summer.

Project work could include:

• Evaluating IBM's annual corporate sustainability performance assessment process
• Developing strategic recommendations to enhance the IBM SkillsBuild platform and/or marketing for student users
• Supporting key Corporate Responsibility efforts in the Americas geography, including volunteering, giving, workforce development and education, and global impact

This role is for a Summer 2027 internship, expected to begin on Monday, May 24, 2027 and end on Friday, August 13, 2027. Roles are based in New York, NY. We work in a hybrid environment, and interns are expected to come into the office at least three days per week.

Required education

High School Diploma/GED

Preferred education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• Currently enrolled in an accredited University
• Available for an internship in Summer 2027
• Rising senior for the 2027-2028 school year
• Basic knowledge of corporate social responsibility, including corporate sustainability, corporate volunteerism, workforce development, education, marketing/communications, or related fields
• Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Basic knowledge of problem-solving and analytical skills
• Basic market research skills
• Prior experience in corporate giving or impact, corporate volunteerism, nonprofit work, or related fields

OTHER RELEVANT JOB DETAILS

Supplemental 1 employees may be eligible for up to 8 paid holidays, minimum of 56 hours paid sick time and the IBM Employee Stock Purchase Plan. IBM offers paid family medical leave and disability benefits to eligible employees where required by applicable law.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
