Position Overview SEC is seeking highly qualified Registered and Licensed Vocational Nurses to teach part‑time LIVE Clinical rotations at well‑known, established hospitals and medical facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accept complete responsibility for students in the clinical facility Teach a course load as assigned, including preparation for and instruction of clinical laboratory Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning Clarify daily clinical expectations with students during pre‑conference Clarify student placement and expectations with clinical facility staff Make patient/student assignments that meet both clinical objectives and patient needs Direct students in data collection and integration into their clinical paperwork; provide resources to students to ensure critical thinking through the nursing process Coordinate a daily plan with clinical site to best observe, instruct, and evaluate students Direct post‑conference to ensure application of theoretical content to clinical experiences; provide opportunities for students to share learned experiences and verbalize feelings Evaluate student progress and give feedback weekly; provide clear objectives for improvement as needed Provide immediate feedback of clinical performance following observation of skills Lab Instruction Oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions for students Provide hands‑on instruction, ensuring safety protocols are followed Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and inquiry Qualifications Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse – current active license in the state of California Previous teaching experience preferred but not required Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities Competence in clinical skills in areas of teaching Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email Education RN with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program; minimum five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with five years’ experience in the specialty field, and one year experience as a Clinical Instructor (not required) LVN with an AA or AS degree + six years experience required or a BA or BS with two years experience required (any type of degree) Work Schedule and Hours Wed & Thurs AM or PM: 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Some Fridays (if available) to do Skills Lab on Campus: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 16 to 24 hours per week Must be able to start immediately Travel is required Compensation: LVN $45.00, RN $50.00 per hour EEO Statement Success Education Colleges is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
