Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To be successful in this role, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses. Is a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues. Responsible for assuring safe equipment operation before attempting any radiology procedure. Performs a secondary erasure on all cassettes each morning. Troubleshoots equipment, reports all equipment downtime and malfunctions to the shift supervisor and cooperates with service personnel for repair. Transports patients to the radiology department utilizing safe equipment transportation protocols. Demonstrates good customer service skills by greeting the patient, introducing himself/herself, explaining the procedure, provides a procedure timeframe and thanks the patient, and following up on all reasonable customer requests. Practices age specific sensitivities. Interviews the patient for pertinent medical history, annotating the history on the CR images and enters a tech note in the PACS assesses the patients learning abilities, reviews patient chart or physician order and obtains consents on patient prior to performing imaging procedures as required.
