Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with a 1:3/4 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
• Manage a complex patient population including those with dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
• Administer and monitor a variety of vasoactive and cardiac medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine
• Maintain high throughput standards consistent with a fast-paced stepdown environment
• Collaborate closely with an on-unit educator and interdisciplinary team members to support patient care and staff development
• Participate in weekend rotation, working up to every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in an IMC, PCU, or Stepdown setting
• Proficiency in managing IV drip medications including vasoactive and cardiac agents
• Ability to care for patients with dysrhythmias, sepsis, and high-flow oxygen requirements
• Ability to work night shifts and participate in a weekend rotation schedule

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
• Familiarity with high-acuity, high-throughput stepdown unit environments
• ACLS certification or equivalent advanced cardiac life support training
