Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (12-Hour Days)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Weekend rotation expected (minimum 2 weekends/month, subject to change based on unit needs)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/PCU setting managing a diverse patient population including general medical, cardiac, and oncology diagnoses
• Perform and monitor tracheostomy care, chest tube management, TR band care, and post-cath lab patient monitoring including q15-minute checks for fresh cath patients
• Administer and titrate cardiac and diuretic drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms; manage patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
• Maintain central line care and support patients with conditions such as CHF, MI, AFib with RVR, NSTEMI, sepsis, stroke, and pulmonary edema
• Float within scope throughout the hospital as needed; deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive care to a high-volume Spanish-speaking and underserved patient population

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of total nursing experience, including 1 year of PCU experience
• Proficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of patients on BiPAP and high-flow O2 (hard stop requirements)
• Familiarity with post-cath lab procedures including TR bands and stent placements required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR
• Comfort caring for oncology patients (leukemia, neutropenia, etc.); chemo administration not required unless specified
• Spanish language proficiency a plus given the high volume of Spanish-speaking patients
• Experience working with underserved or charity care populations
