Publix Super Markets, Inc. is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to join our corporate legal team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the business and play a key part in supporting the company’s continued growth across a large, multi-state retail portfolio.As part of the Real Estate Legal team, you’ll work alongside internal partners on a broad range of high-impact real estate matters, including leasing, acquisitions, development, and other strategic initiatives. You’ll also help support a portfolio of more than 4,000 shopping center tenants leasing space from Publix and its subsidiaries in company-owned centers. With more than 250,000 associates, Publix continues to grow with a workforce invested in the company’s success.What You’ll DoProvide day-to-day legal support for a large portfolio of retail and industrial real estate assets across multiple states including AL, GA, FL, KY, NC, SC, TN & VA.Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial real estate documents, including:Leases (including build-to-suit and ground leases)Purchase and sale agreementsEasements, covenants, and development agreementsSupport site acquisition, leasing, and development strategies in partnership with Real Estate and Facilities teams.Conduct and analyze title, survey, and due diligence matters.Provide strategic legal guidance to business leaders and cross-functional teams. Partner with internal teams to improve processes, develop templates, and drive operational consistency.Monitor legal and regulatory trends impacting real estate transactions and retail operations.Required QualificationsJuris Doctor and active BAR admission in any U.S. state.5+ years of legal experience in real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, or development.Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate agreements.Ability to work in a cross-functional, business-facing environment.Strong problem-solving, judgment, and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting a high-volume retail or multi-site real estate portfolio.5+ years of experience with a concentration in transactional commercial leasing and acquisitions.Familiarity with grocery, retail, or consumer-facing business operations.Prior in-house experience or regular partnership with internal business teams.
