Residential Counselor - Portsmouth

To provide direct supervision, case management, and individual, group and family counseling to youth in a residential setting. Day/evening/weekend shift availability required. Ideal candidate is competency-based, flexible and a strong team player. Position will assist in operating a pre- and post-dispositional residential group home. The ideal candidate will have a background in social work, psychology or a related field, and will be responsible for providing clinical services and administrative responsibilities to residents in our residential facility. Evening, weekend and on-call hours are expected. Must be energetic, professional and possess good communication, written and verbal skills. Responsibilities Provide sight and sound supervision for residents on an 8-bed unit. Provide support, supervision, guidance to residents in a residential setting. Implement individualized treatment plans for each resident and provide case management for assigned youth. Facilitate group activities and discussions to promote positive behavior and social skills. Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and behavior. Monitor residents' activities to ensure safety and security. Provide crisis intervention services when needed. Assist in developing and implementing educational programs for residents. Must transport residents in 12 or 15-passenger van as necessary.
