American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a travel nursing job in Bismarck, North Dakota.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Interventional RadiologyDiscipline: RNStart Date: 11/02/2026Duration: 13 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 8 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Days, 5x8hrsHours: 40 hrs/wkStart Date: Nov 2, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with moderate sedation experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.DetailsAcute care setting within a Level 2 Trauma Center's Interventional Radiology department with 2 labsAverages 5-10 cases per day including inpatient, outpatient, and emergent casesCase types include stroke thrombectomy, embolizations, lines, tubes, visceral, para, thoracentesis, and biopsies with drain/chest tube insertionsAlso supports CT and ultrasound areasUses Epic EMR along with Philips Xper (Hemo) and Siemens C-Arm equipmentSchedule consists of 2x10hr and 2x8hr shifts, or all 8-hour shifts, with hours ranging 0600-1630 and 0700-1530Team scheduling with self-scheduling posted 17 days in advance for 6-week blocksOn-call required 1-2 weeknights per week, every third weekend, and every other holidayCall response time is 30 minutesFloating required to Radiology pre/post areasIR techs and a Team Lead are present in the lab to support the unitRequirementsActive RN license (ND state or Compact) required, pending licenses not acceptedBLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be active, pending certifications not acceptedMinimum 1 year of experience requiredBSN not required for this positionModerate/conscious sedation experience requiredStrong teamwork skills and willingness to assist as neededRadiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to startCopy of driver's license required for considerationTwo professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibilityAdditional InformationRN will manage conscious sedation with autonomy, in addition to charting, circulating, and pre/post care duties for IR proceduresInterventional Radiologist and in-house intensivist MD available 24/7, with IR on call after hoursOne week of unit-specific orientation including classroom and lab trainingScrubs are provided; bring your own lock for locker and hospital-designated shoesUp to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissionNo holiday RTO permittedCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not currently or recently have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or DignityAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-757386.
