First shift from 7:00 am‑3:30 pm. $1,000 Sign‑on Bonus Starting Rate: $25 per hour Summary Responsible for the joining, fabrication, and repair of metal and other weldable material by applying the appropriate welding techniques. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material using appropriate welding techniques. Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. Move material to and from the workstation by hand, cart, and crane as required. Use machinery safely and efficiently, including welders, hand tools, grinders, etc. Inspect and test completed units. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings. Interpret routing instructions. Tag or mark identifying information on parts. Grease or lubricate parts as required. Adjust and grind down parts if necessary. Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections. Use calipers and micrometers to measure parts and determine tolerances. Measure dimensions and clearance of parts. Perform basic mathematical calculations. Follow all housekeeping and safety rules. Perform other duties as required. Education/Work Experience Requirements Welding certification and at least 2 years of MIG or TIG welding experience (or equivalent work experience). Experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred). Knowledge of commonly used welding concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to read fabrication and assembly blueprints. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and work procedures. Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Capability to obtain internal welding certification in MIG and TIG. Strong mechanical aptitude. High level of knowledge and experience with hand and power tools. Basic math skills. Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Willingness to work in a team environment and take ownership of assembly operations. Flexibility to work in final and sub‑assemblies as required. Ability to work with little supervision; self‑motivated and self‑starter. Physical and Mental Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and hand use; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; frequent lifting of up to 25 lb and occasional lifting of up to 50 lb. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work is performed in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes, and forklift traffic. Personal protective equipment is required. Mental demands include written and oral communication, data interpretation, problem solving, use of math, observation, learning new skills, and interaction with employees, customers, and vendors.
