Traveling Physical Therapist Opportunity

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join this traveling Physical Therapist opportunity in Garden City, NY working in a Home Health setting. Provide patient evaluations and therapeutic services according to physician orders. Supervise and evaluate Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides as assigned. Must perform duties in accordance with applicable state regulations and participate in patient education, home environment evaluation, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA or equivalent accrediting body.
• Current, unencumbered New York State license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Current CPR certification.
• Familiarity with electronic documentation, e-mail, basic computer navigation, and online training platforms.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license as required for home visits.
• Experience providing physical therapy in home health or comparable outpatient/home settings preferred.
• 2-3 years of physical therapy experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising PTAs and home health aides.
• Prior experience working under state-specific home health regulations.

Assignment Details

• Shift: Evenings, 5x8
• Home health visits require reliable transportation and agency-required liability insurance.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide skilled physical therapy in accordance with physician plans of care. Perform evaluations, develop and update treatment plans, document patient progress, educate patients and caregivers, and coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Participate in in-service education and ensure regulatory compliance for home health services.
