We are seeking a full-time Family Service Advocate to join our Care Management Team at our Columbus, Ohio location!Compensation: $20-$22 per hourTo learn more about the program, please see the information below: SummaryThe Family Service Advocate I works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families being served by the National Youth Advocate Program by working closely with the youth and family to provide advocacy and support towards targeted goals.Working at NYAP:NYAP's commitment to doing what is best for children, youth and their families is a core value and one that we look for in our newest team members.Excellent training and continuing education and development opportunities offered!Student Loan Repayment assistance, up to $1,200 per year!Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for you and your family!22 Days Off Each Year!Plus 11 Paid Holidays Per Year!Competitive salaries and benefits including a 401(k)Summer Hours Off (Friday afternoons off).Tuition AssistanceWork Anniversary Trips!Peace leaveSupervision Hours (for staff working on Independent Licensure)Flexible HoursMileage ReimbursementRESPONSIBILITIESThe Family Service Advocate I will perform duties including, but not limited to:Participate in the development of the youth treatment/service plans with the client, caregiver(s), referring agency caseworker, significant family member(s), and natural support.Identify resources and services in the community that may not be available through the internal service continuum.Assist in family reunification efforts with the youths’ primary families or other permanent living arrangements consistent with the youth’s case plan.Provide supervision during visitation between parents and child(ren) at the agency.Provide direct supervision and support to youth while the agency actively pursues appropriate placement options, ensuring safety, stability, and adherence to agency guidelines.Monitor and facilitate visits between noncustodial parents/guardians and their children, ensuring visits are conducted safely, respectfully, and in accordance with court orders and agency policies.Regularly review the goals, progress, and activities of the assigned youth with the supervisor.Complete all relevant training on a timely basis as required by state, contract, and/or licensing agency standards.Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.Maintain client contact as required by program expectations.Actively and directly engage with the youth to meet service needs and goals/objectives of the treatment/service plan.Interact with the youth to develop a trusting, supportive relationship while assisting the youth in achieving identified goals.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS21 years of age or older.High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Associate’s Degree in social services is preferred.Reliable transportation.Driver’s License with a safe driving record.Working, reliable telephone.Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.OTHER SKILLS2 years’ experience working directly with youth and families is preferred but not required.Works well independently and as a team member.Multi-task efficiently and be flexible in all situations.Openness to traveling as needed.Ready to make an impact?
