Position Description:

As a member of the Gilson Packaging department, team members are responsible for performing handwork, kitting, and packaging to meet customer requirements and ensure safe arrival to the destination.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Handwork activities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Applying tape, sleeves, or labels to materials such as signage, displays, and marketing collateral
  • Folding materials such as letters, brochure holders, presentation folders, etc.
  • Inserting materials into bags, envelopes, presentation folders, cartons, etc.
  • Forming items such as visual marketing signage, folding cartons, product inserts, etc.
  • Inspecting and sorting items for defects, damage, or other issues
  • Counting, stacking, rubber banding, or bagging items for packs or kitting
  • Making buttons and adding grommets
• Kitting activities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Combining multiple items into common or unique combinations
  • Building boxes (taped or stapled)
  • Safely packing kits to prevent damage during shipping
  • Preparing for distribution: marking, labeling, etc.
• Packing activities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Placing like items in cartons, adding packing material, labeling, and sealing
  • Rolling posters and placing them in tubes
• Maintain a clean work environment by wiping down work surfaces, sweeping, emptying trash, returning tools, etc.

Schedule:

1. 4 consecutive (10 hours) shifts per week
2. Schedule must include both Saturday and Sunday
3. Shifts: 6:00 am - 4 pm
4. Eligible for 10% shift premium on all shifts

Requirements

Experience

• On-the-job training provided; no previous experience required

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to stand and move throughout most of the shift
• Able to work in a group setting
• Demonstrated commitment to quality, detail, and accuracy
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• History of good attendance and dependability
• Ability to record time and proper job in a data collection system
• Must abide by all safety rules, policies, and procedures
