With more than 500 physicians representing virtually every specialty, HPMC strives to distinguish itself as a leading healthcare provider, recognized for providing quality, innovative care in a compassionate manner.HPMC is part of a global healthcare enterprise which owns and operates general hospitals throughout Korea, numerous research centers in the U.S. and Korea including a medical university, and CHAUM (a premier anti-aging life center)MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Position Summary:The Central Supply Supervisor is responsible for approved infection control, quality assurance and departmental policies and procedures.Collects, cleans, decontaminates, disinfects and/or sterilizes surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment for inpatient Nursing and Medical Office departments.Inventories, restocks and distributes instruments, reusable medical equipment and medical supplies to Medical Center.Works a majority of time in a Sterile Processing Department cleaning, preparing, assembling, sterilizing, prepare packs, instruments, and trays for the medical center and/or medical office building.Will process inpatient operating room instruments.May assist in departmental in-services and training.Must hold current CS/SPD Certification with either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or The International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management.JOB QUALIFICATIONSMinimum EducationHigh school graduate or equivalent.Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree preferredMinimum Work Experience and QualificationsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Must be able to work in a union environment.At least 1 year experience in a progressive hospital Central Service Department or 3 years’ experience in a progressive hospital.Preferred Work Experience and QualificationsN/ARequired Licensure, Certification, Registration or DesignationCurrent Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire)Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)Current Certified Central Service Technician status preferred satisfactory completion of a Central Technician course.Status: Full-Time Exempt
