Production & Media Coordinator (Audio-Visual Tech)

Position Overview Under supervision, performs responsible technical duties in the operation and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment; and performs related duties as required. Primary Responsibilities Operate audio‑visual equipment, including 16mm projectors, tape recorders, CD players, slide projectors, VCRs, film strip projectors and phonographs. Provide technical assistance and direction to teachers and students in the operation of audio‑visual equipment. Inspect and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation. Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Order and replace worn parts. Maintain inventory records and distribute equipment to teachers as requested. Qualifications Required training and experience: Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.) and at least one year of work experience operating and maintaining a variety of audio‑visual equipment, or an equivalent combination. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good knowledge of operations and procedures for audio‑visual equipment. Ability to provide technical assistance to teachers and students and prepare and maintain accurate records. Skill in operating, caring and maintaining audio‑visual equipment and materials. Physical Requirements Light work: Exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently or negligible. Requires walking or standing most of the time; or mostly sitting with pushing or pulling arm controls. Conditions of Employment Establish and maintain Chicago residency within six months of hire and maintain residency throughout employment. Be fully vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID‑19 testing within 30 days of hire.
