Dietary Cook – Part-TimeSumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Dietary Cook to join our team. Our Dietary Cooks play an important role in resident care by preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while helping create a positive dining experience for those we serve. If you enjoy cooking, take pride in your work, and are looking for a rewarding part-time position in York, Alabama, we'd love to meet you.Dietary Cook ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.Prepare meals for residents with regular, modified, and therapeutic diets.Follow resident diet orders, food allergies, and dietary restrictions accurately.Ensure meals are prepared and served at appropriate temperatures.Assist with meal preparation, plating, and food service.Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and proper food-handling procedures.Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.Assist with cleaning dishes, equipment, and work areas as needed.Work collaboratively with dietary, nursing, and other departments to meet resident needs.QualificationsPrevious cooking or food service experience preferred.Healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, restaurant, institutional, or commercial kitchen experience is a plus.Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety practices.Ability to follow recipes, menus, diet instructions, and portion guidelines.Strong attention to detail and organization.Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.Commitment to providing excellent service to residents.Why Join Sumter?Competitive PayPart-Time ScheduleSupportive Leadership and Team EnvironmentOpportunity to Make a Meaningful DifferenceStable Healthcare Work EnvironmentAt Sumter Health & Rehabilitation, meals are more than part of the daily routine—they're an important part of our residents' health, comfort, and quality of life.
