Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver software-enabled capabilities deployed to customers, optimizing for end-user value.
• Design and implement scalable software with an evolutionary architecture for current and future autonomous platforms.
• Develop reusable software services and software operating on and off robotic platforms.
• Design and execute development processes for vehicle and mission software, including lifecycle testing, monitoring, operation, and sustainment.
• Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures.
• Troubleshoot remotely deployed systems and support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
• Act as a technical owner across requirements, roadmap, architecture, implementation, operation, and evolution.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, mentor Software Engineers, and travel to end users or other teams up to 20% of the time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer with expertise in one or more relevant domains or technologies.
• Systems or application programming skills in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
• Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
• Ability to work across the software stack and lifecycle, from design and implementation through operation and sustainment.
• Ability to own a software service technically, including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmap management, coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
• Ability to learn and grow while effectively mentoring junior team members and building team cohesion.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Preferred experience delivering military mission systems in a senior role.
• Preferred experience with backend services or embedded software in C++, Rust, and/or Go.
• Preferred experience with frontend applications using TypeScript and React.
• Preferred experience with horizontally scaled cloud technologies, embedded robotics software, modeling and simulation, safety-critical software, and product delivery through manufacturing, acceptance, deployment, and sustainment.
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts and interest in progressing toward Staff Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager responsibilities.
