Overview As you weigh your options on where to further your clinical education during the final year of program, consider Torrance Audiology Center. During your externship with Torrance Audiology Center, you will work alongside Dr. Rebecca Hu to advance your skills with testing (audiologic and VNG), results interpretation, counseling and follow-up techniques, cochlear implants and the basics of the insurance billing process. Externship Information Primary Practice Setting: Private practice Number of Audiologists at the site: 0 FTE Masters Degree, 2 FTE Au.D., 0 FTE Ph.D., 0 FTE Other Doctorate (ScD), 1 FTE professional support staff (technicians/audiometric assistants), 3 FTE Clerical Support Staff Number of Audiology Students each year: 0 1st year AuD Clinical Rotations, 0 2nd year, 0 3rd year, 1 4th year Externships Financial arrangements: Stipend Will interview travel be compensated? Yes Requirements before starting externship: Conduct audiologic evaluation, impedance testing, OAEs, VNG, and basic interpretation of results. Skills to learn during externship: Refine testing skills, differential diagnosis, develop individualized treatment plans, hearing aid services, pediatric audiologic evaluation, CI candidacy evaluation, and insurance billing.
