Senior Software Engineer (React Native) [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (React Native) based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build and scale a customer-facing mobile application used by real users every day.
You will take full ownership of the mobile codebase, driving architecture, development practices, and technical excellence.
The position combines deep React Native expertise with hands-on engineering, product collaboration, and technical leadership.
You will work closely with product, design, QA, API, and web engineering teams to deliver seamless digital experiences.
As a senior individual contributor, you will influence engineering standards, mentor teammates, and shape long-term technical decisions.

Accountabilities

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in React Native development, you will own the architecture, implementation, and continuous improvement of a high-quality mobile application while helping elevate engineering practices across the team.

• Design, build, and maintain new customer-facing mobile experiences using React Native and Expo.
• Own the mobile application architecture, development workflows, performance improvements, testing strategy, and release processes.
• Develop and maintain integrations between React Native applications and native iOS and Android technologies.
• Collaborate closely with API engineers to define requirements, establish contracts, and deliver reliable product experiences.
• Partner with web engineers to create consistent cross-platform experiences and align technical approaches.
• Work with product, design, and QA teams to transform complex user needs into scalable and intuitive solutions.
• Establish technical standards through thoughtful architecture decisions, code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor other engineers by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and helping improve team capabilities.
• Make customer-focused technical decisions that ensure reliable performance across real devices and user environments.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced software engineer with strong React Native expertise, technical leadership skills, and a passion for building reliable customer-facing applications.

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant recent experience with React Native development.
• Deep expertise in React Native across both iOS and Android platforms, including cross-platform challenges, native modules, performance optimization, and mobile release processes.
• Hands-on experience with Expo, including managed workflows, EAS Build, EAS Submit, EAS Update, and related development tradeoffs.
• Ability to work with native mobile technologies, including experience with Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java when needed.
• Strong experience building customer-facing applications that support real users and business-critical workflows.
• Experience collaborating with API teams and contributing to technical requirements and implementation decisions.
• Demonstrated technical leadership as a senior individual contributor, including architecture ownership, code quality improvements, and mentorship.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, design, QA, and engineering teams.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fully remote environment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, mobile delivery processes, TestFlight, Play Console, and OTA updates is a plus.
• Familiarity with WordPress integrations, subscription platforms, consent management systems, or media/content-focused products is a plus.
