In the role of Groundwater Modeler/Hydrogeologist we'll count on you to:Work under more-senior modelers, using prescribed methods in various data analysis and modeling assignments as part of groundwater and contaminant fate and transport modeling projects.Evaluate groundwater movement, contaminant fate and transport, groundwater supplies, and land subsidence due to over withdrawal of groundwaterAcquire, organize and analyze environmental dataSet up and execute mathematical modelsPerform quality-control checks on model input and resultsParticipate in project meetings, proposal preparation, report writing and presentationsDevelop statistical and graphical comparisons of model results and dataPerform other duties as needed Preferred QualificationsMasters degree in hydrogeology or environmental engineering (with a focus on groundwater modeling or hydrogeologic processes) preferredExperience conducting groundwater modeling, working with modeling programs like MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3DMS and model processing software such as GMS or Groundwater Vistas required, however, would consider strong candidate with a directly relevantMasters with required experience in modeling programs and mathematical software with academic related experience in modelingExperience with mathematical software such as Python, MatLab and RStrong analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of hydrogeological processes and principlesStrong oral and written communication skillsExperience with Microsoft Office SuiteSelf-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of taskExcellent oral and written communication skillsCandidates who reside locally in the Philadelphia area are preferredPrevious field experience collecting groundwater data preferredOSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification are a plus#LI-AG2QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, oceanography or closely related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong oral and written communication skills Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
