Job Title: Forklift Operator (10am-6:30pm)

Job Description

This Forklift Operator role offers a dynamic mix of warehouse responsibilities, including operating various powered industrial trucks, handling picking and packing tasks, and preparing products for shipment. You will work Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with an initial training period on a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule for approximately three weeks. The position involves working with order pickers and reach trucks, and requires comfort with being elevated up to 8 feet in the air while performing warehouse duties. Overtime may be required as business needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of warehouse functions, including picking and packing products according to customer and internal requirements.

• Load, unload, move, put away, and stage products and materials using a forklift, sit-down forklift, pacer, order picker, reach truck, or other powered industrial equipment.

• Operate an order picker that elevates you up to approximately 8 feet, following all safety protocols while working at height.

• Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures, and consistently maintain a safe working environment.

• Perform daily inspections on forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, and report any issues or concerns promptly.

• Check orders for accuracy to ensure correct items, quantities, and labeling before shipment.

• Prepare products for shipment by properly packaging, labeling, and staging orders for outbound transport.

• Perform general housekeeping responsibilities to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.

• Work as directed by leadership, adapting to multiple functions and tasks within the warehouse as needed.

• Handle moderate physical activity throughout the shift, including lifting and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations and team goals.

Essential Skills

• Previous warehouse experience, demonstrating familiarity with warehouse processes and operations.

• Comfort operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and pacers; 6 months or more of PIT experience is appreciated but not required.

• Ability to work safely at heights, including being elevated up to approximately 8 feet on an order picker.

• Ability to identify, locate, and move products accurately, including the ability to read, count, and perform basic math functions.

• Ability to handle moderate physical activity throughout the shift, including lifting and carrying products up to 40 pounds.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Age 18 years or older.

• Safety-minded, team-oriented, motivated, and responsible approach to work.

• Strong, positive attitude and commitment to long-term development within the role.

• Willingness and ability to work Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including an initial training schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for approximately three weeks.

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including early start times (such as 4:00 a.m.) and occasional Saturdays with advance notice.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts, pacers, and reach trucks in a warehouse environment.

• Prior experience performing daily inspections and basic maintenance checks on powered industrial equipment.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a supportive and respectful team environment.

• Strong attention to detail when checking orders for accuracy and preparing products for shipment.

• Willingness to cross-train and perform multiple functions within the warehouse as operational needs change.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment where you will work primarily Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with an initial training period on a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule for approximately three weeks. Overtime may be scheduled as needed, including earlier start times such as 4:00 a.m. and occasional Saturday shifts, with at least 48 hours notice for Saturday overtime. You will work with powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, sit-down forklifts, pacers, order pickers, and reach trucks. The work involves moderate physical activity throughout the shift, including lifting and carrying products up to 40 pounds, walking, standing, and working at heights up to approximately 8 feet on an order picker. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, and expects employees to follow all safety rules and housekeeping standards while maintaining appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and material handling environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chino, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
