About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Dialysis Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (08:00 - 20:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient Hemodialysis experience in Level 1 - Trauma or similar size hospital. License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required - AHA ONLY Must-Have: EPIC experience required Telemetry test required prior to start Experience with adults and pediatrics Description: Shifts are 12 hours, from 08:00 to 20:30. Position includes every other weekend and holidays if needed. Weekday and weekend on-call responsibility may be assigned as needed. Must have experience with both adult and pediatric patients. Must be able to administer hemodialysis treatments at the bedside. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential for patient care. Responsibilities include managing hemorrhage, hyperkalemia, hypotension, and other renal issues. Experience with CRRT and administering blood and blood products is required. Ability to cannulate AV fistulas and grafts is necessary. Maintain patient safety and perform infection control measures at all times. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role. Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation to identify abnormal heart rhythms. Capacity to handle emergency situations and medical interventions is required. Ensure appropriate assessment and management of patients with acute renal failure. Work with special equipment such as ceiling lifts and infusion pumps. Knowledge of pediatric dialysis and support services for patients of all ages is a must. Provide education to patients and families regarding dialysis and related procedures. Promote a positive patient experience and high standards of care.
