The Opportunity Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mining Environmental Group in Phoenix, AZ. This role will support and lead geotechnical aspects of mining projects, with a focus on tailings storage facilities (TSFs), mine waste, and water management. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to complex, large-scale global projects. This Role Will Give You The Opportunity To Lead and support the design, construction, operation, and closure of tailings storage facilities Perform and contribute to risk assessments, dam safety evaluations, and risk-based decision-making Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external partners on field programs and engineering solutions Conduct geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and seepage assessments Oversee site investigations, laboratory testing, and earthworks activities Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout project lifecycles Utilize industry-standard software and tools for analysis and design Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences and training What We Require Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering (or related discipline) 10+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in mining Eligibility for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States Located in Phoenix, AZ, or willing to relocate Demonstrated experience with dam design, slope stability, seepage analysis, and site investigation Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, including laboratory and field testing Experience working in safety-focused environments with incident reporting requirements Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams What We Offer Hybrid work environment (3 days in office) Annual performance and salary reviews Competitive compensation, including performance-based bonuses Vacation and leave programs aligned with experience Paid overtime and sick leave Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities A collaborative, mid-sized firm environment with access to global expertise Along With Continued Career Development, KCB Offers Hybrid work opportunities Annual performance and salary review PSMJ’s supported track record of profitability, leading to above average bonus payouts Vacation policy that aligns to your experience Paid OT, and sick days Dedication to WEF’s “Four Pillars” of Environment Social Governance framework, Governance, People, Planet and Prosperity We are a global organization committed developing a respectful workplace founded on the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
