Overview: The Senior Software Quality Engineer is responsible for leading quality assurance efforts within Agile teams, ensuring delivery of defect-free products within committed timelines and scope. This role drives end-to-end testing strategies across all application tiers, including automation, performance, and integration testing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead testing efforts for data-intensive, backend-driven applications with limited UI, ensuring high data accuracy and system integrity.
• Participate in product design and architecture reviews, focusing on data flows, transformations, integration points, and quality risks.
• Define and execute test strategies and plans emphasizing data validation, backend systems, and system integrations.
• Perform end-to-end validation of data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, database storage, and downstream consumption.
• Design and execute complex SQL-based validation to verify business rules, joins, aggregations, and data transformations.
• Conduct source-to-target reconciliation across systems to ensure completeness, consistency, and correctness of data.
• Validate file-based workflows (SFTP, batch processing, inbound/outbound feeds) including structure, content, and processing accuracy.
• Test APIs and service integrations that support data exchange across systems.
• Perform targeted UI validation to verify critical workflows, data display, and user-facing outputs (where applicable).
• Identify, analyze, and document data, application, and integration defects, including mismatches, transformation errors, and schema issues.
• Own defect lifecycle management, including triage, prioritization, tracking, and resolution with engineering and product teams.
• Develop and maintain test automation and data validation frameworks/scripts to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Monitor test execution, analyze quality metrics (data accuracy, defect leakage, reconciliation gaps), and provide actionable insights.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and production issues, implementing preventive measures.
• Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps to integrate validation into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Mentor team members on SQL, data validation techniques, and backend testing best practices.
• Ensure compliance with CCS standards, HIPAA regulations, and data security requirements.
• Maintain compliance with ComplexCare Solutions (CCS) policies, procedures and mission statement.
• Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within CCS's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
• Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by CCS for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.

Job Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering with a focus on data validation, backend systems, and integrations
• Advanced SQL proficiency with the ability to analyze, validate, and optimize large datasets
• Strong experience with data validation, ETL/ELT processes, data reconciliation, and end-to-end data workflow testing
• Solid understanding of data integrity, database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), and file/API-based integrations
• Experience with test automation, data validation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., ADO, JIRA)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities in Agile environments
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and across cross-functional teams
• Experience in healthcare data environments and high-volume data processing is preferred
• Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or relevant experience.

Compensation: $97,300 - $100,000 annually
