Job Description
Description:
Let’s Do great things—Together
At Shive-Hattery, we believe great design starts with great people. We’re a full-service architecture and engineering firm with a legacy of collaboration, innovation, and putting people first, our clients and each other. If you’re looking for a place where your ideas matter and your growth is supported, you’ll feel at home here.
Why This Role Matters
As an Architect/Project Manager in the civic and public project market with 10-15 years of experience you’ll play a key role in supporting the firm and shaping projects that make a difference—from concept through completion. You’ll collaborate with talented teammates, contribute your expertise, and help us deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions for those we serve.
What You’ll Do
- Actively participate and contribute to design and project management through engaging in design discussions, generating ideas, collaborating, and working on drawings, models, and 3D imaging formats.
- As a licensed design professional, you will direct non-licensed and other professionals assigned to design, produce, and coordinate the design process and technical documents. You will create graphical images and perform design and detailing tasks in Revit.
- You will attend project and client meetings with design professionals to explore business development opportunities.
- Managing and supervising project teams comprising architects, engineers, and designers for medium to large projects with a high degree of focus on civic and public projects. Demonstrating a high degree of critical and creative thinking related to design processes is essential.
- Primarily assigned complex projects, but may also be assigned total programs from time-to-time
- Program management typically requires accountability for a related series of projects executed over a period that is designed to accomplish broad goals for the client. Continually increases knowledge, skills, and ability in the Project Management profession through education, training and experience - primarily in advanced and leading-edge project management concepts
You don’t need to check every box to succeed here. If your experience aligns with many of the items below and you’re excited about the work we do, we encourage you to apply.
- For a senior-level position, candidates should possess at least 10 to 15+ years of experience in architecture. Successful applicants must have completed an accredited professional degree program with either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent education and experience.
- A thorough understanding of architectural specifications, local, state and federal building codes, life safety codes, and current ADA requirements is required.
- Knowledge of programming, planning, and building performance is advantageous. Qualifications should align with mid to senior-level experience, showcasing motivation and creativity in professional endeavors.
What will make you stand out
- Candidates should be adept at designing with a strong understanding of building systems and have experience in designing projects of varying scale and complexity within the civic and public sectors.
- As a self-motivated individual, the candidate excels in independent problem-solving and possesses excellent communication skills.
- A knowledge of Autodesk Revit, SpecLink, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and AutoCad is beneficial.
Our Commitment to You
Great work happens when you feel secure in your future, confident in your support, and trusted to grow. That’s why our benefits support your health, financial stability, and life beyond work — including medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off and holidays, 401(k) retirement savings, disability protection, wellness incentives, and flexibility. When we succeed, you share in that success. Guided by truth, trust, mentoring, and care, we’re committed to helping you build a lasting career.
Salary for this role is in the range of $100,000 - $120,000 per year
