About the role Churchill Consulting Engineers is seeking a highly motivated Junior Water Resources/Civil Design Engineer to join our team! Churchill is a full‑service engineering firm that provides public and private sector clients with planning, design, surveying, permitting, and construction management services for a broad range of civil/infrastructure and environmental projects. Department: Engineering Location: Berlin, NJ Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 / year Key Responsibilities Under the supervision of a professional engineer, design various project elements including drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, hydraulic design of bridges and culverts, and other related elements. Prepare/assist with 3D design models in Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads and Openroads software. Draft contract plans and details for various project phases including preliminary design and final design. Perform engineering design calculations. Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates and supplemental specifications. Perform site visits to support design efforts. Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies and prepare meeting minutes. Work within a team. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline. 3-5+ years of related experience. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Ability to work within a team and independently. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
