Physical Therapist

Trifecta Proven is recruiting for an Physical Therapist (PT) to provide services at the Hawaii Air National Guard at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. This opening is part of the Optimizing the Human Weapon System initiative. The PT will be an integral part of the team aiming to reduce the frequency and severity of neck and back pain injuries, reduce duty time lost, improve quality of life, enhance readiness and support fighter aircrew retention. The PT will specifically work to reduce injury rates and increase the rate of fighter aircrew fully mission capable status. 

Hours: Monday thorugh Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide pre-habilitation of musculoskeletal conditions in fighter aircrew and refferrals to the miltiary treatment facility as needed.
  2. Evaluate and provide pre-habilitation for all asigned fighter aircrew. 
  3. Develop individualized program for each member served. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary group including athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coach and others. 
  4. Guide ongoing implementation of the individualized program. Monitor progress and continually reassess and adjust individualized program to ensure member is making the best progress possible.
  5. Advise unit commanders on matters related to injury prevention and rehabilitation. Identify opportunities for improvement and develop protocols and standard operating procedures for fitness programs.
  6. Advise unit commanders of administrative matters, purchasing of supplies and equipment and supplemental fiscal requests related to interventions and professional services provided.
  7. Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure that the OHWS program continues to improve as our understanding of injury prevention evolves.
  8. Communicate with the servicing military treament facility when an aircrew member has a medical condition or injury requiring medical care.
  9. Refer fighter aircrew personnel with a new duty-limiting condition to the servicing military treatment facility.
  10. Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment and contribute to a safe working environmnet.
  11. Attend annual required training in accordance with guiding instructions.
  12. Provide Human Performance and Prehabilitive trending metrics report to include: musculoskeletal pain, duration of pain, origin of pain, types of pain, conditions 
    which may require surgery, and trends of musculoskeletal pain over periods of time. 

Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy (DScPT) from a university accredited by American Physical Therapy Association.

Licensure: Hold a current, unrestricted license to practice Physical Therapy.

Certification: Possess a certication through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as either an orthopedic clinical specialist or sports certified specialist. A PT who is cross-trained and certified as athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association will also be considered.

Experience: Experience working with professional and/or collegiate athletes or equivalent. A minimum of four (4) years' experience is preferred. Also, shall have experience working in an orthopedic out-patient physical therapy clinic or sports medicine clinic. Past expereince working with combat-related injuries is strongly preferred.

Note: Offered salary will be dependent on experience, credentials and overall interview evaluation.
