Forklift Service Operator

Position Overview Starting pay is $24.8885 per hour with an additional 5% shift differential for night shift. The shift schedule is 4 days on, 4 days off, 12‑hour shifts (6am–6pm or 6pm–6am). The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, storing, and delivering coils, in‑process supplies, materials, and finished product. Location Mankato, MN Duties and Responsibilities Serve Production/Shipping areas with materials and supplies as needed. Move materials and finished products between locations throughout the plant. Complete required forms, spoilage logs, shipping reports, etc. Store ends, plates, pallets, etc. by specification. Collect, weigh, record, and dispose of scrap in designated containers. Perform forklift inspections and report issues to the supervisor. Maintain proper housekeeping and safety; keep work area clean. Store materials in the correct locations. Wrap and load pallets as required. Maintain and organize the warehouse. Safely operate power tools and other equipment to complete tasks accurately. Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper condition; service or return damaged items for repair or replacement. Perform visual inspection of pallets/materials; remove, replace, or repair defective or damaged goods before loading trucks. Palletize and band spoilage. Follow standard safety precautions and operators’ instructions when using power tools; wear recommended protective equipment. Provide support to the shipping dock when necessary. Set dock loading plate for unloading or loading materials. Unload and load materials from trucks when required. Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Previous forklift experience. Ability to operate a 30,000‑lb capacity forklift and maintain certification. Understanding and adherence to plant quality procedures. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, handling, feeling, operating, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and smelling. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Job performed in a factory setting with moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic. High noise levels; significant hearing protection required.
