About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Procurement to oversee all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers, and to lead a team in achieving corporate goals and ensuring profitability. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hiring, training, and development of staff, as well as the execution of annual marketing programs. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing inventory, negotiating with vendors, and maintaining service levels. The Vice President of Procurement will also be expected to interact with customers and vendors to ensure a high standard of service and to continuously improve purchasing strategies based on industry knowledge. Applicants for the Vice President of Procurement position at the company should have a Diploma/GED or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6-7 years in procurement or a related area, including supervisory experience. A Bachelor's degree and over 7 years in procurement, particularly with a focus on the food service industry, is preferred. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in procurement, a proven track record in a supervisory or management role, and a deep understanding of the food distribution system. The ideal candidate will be adept at problem-solving, have excellent communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain efficient procedures to enhance the productivity of the purchasing department.
