What You'll Do

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner , you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment while collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Psychiatric Care

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and comprehensive health histories
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications within established clinical guidelines
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medications
• Provide therapeutic support and counseling when appropriate

Clinical Documentation & Compliance

• Complete timely and accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Maintain progress notes in accordance with Medicaid, Medicare, and agency requirements
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and quality standards
• Utilize appropriate coding and billing practices

Collaboration & Care Coordination

• Partner with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and community resources
• Coordinate care among internal and external treatment providers
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, and continuity of care efforts

QualificationsRequired

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Nurse Practitioner Certification (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred or as required)
• Current DEA Registration
• Current CPR Certification
• ACLS and PALS Certifications
• Minimum one year of experience in a community clinic or similar healthcare setting
• Experience providing psychiatric care and medication management

Preferred

• Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across diverse populations
• Behavioral health outpatient experience
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems

Skills & Competencies

• Strong psychiatric assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to manage a diverse patient population
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
