Neuro Stepdown Travel Nurse Opportunity

This position requires a traveler with a strong teamwork approach and adherence to Novant behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. The traveler must be able to titrate LEVO and meet the call off policy which is strongly enforced. Minimum of two years of experience is required, preferably in a neuro setting. Locals are accepted with a rate difference.

Work setting skills required include Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown & Telemetry. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills are required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and use of rapid response/code teams. Cardiovascular, endocrine/metabolic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, IV therapy/phlebotomy, medications, neurological/psychiatric, plastics, respiratory, professional topics and skills, and additional skills are also required.

Job details include ratios of 1:3-4, an average daily census of up to 24 patients, and a shift of 12-hour nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Float to other intermediate areas and critical care is required, as well as a minimum of three weekend shifts every six weeks. The unit accepts contracts of 13 to 26 weeks.

Patient diagnoses include a sub-specialized neurological population along with medical intermediate patients. Unit systems include PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR. The orientation is 32 hours, including an 8-hour computer class and two shifts on the unit after initial hospital orientation. Scrubs are any combination of navy blue and white.
