TELEPHONE OPERATOR

MIAMI VALLEY HOSPITAL TELEPHONE OPERATOR 7:30a.m. to 4:00p.m., including weekends and holidays. Full‑time, 80hours every two weeks. The Telephone Operator provides a welcoming and positive first impression of Miami Valley Hospital by processing incoming, outgoing, networked, and interoffice calls regarding hospital services, patient information, and by providing directory assistance and emergency notification information. The Telephone Operator also processes pages via audio and radio equipment. Responsibilities Processing telephone calls, handling pages, and providing directory assistance and emergency notifications. Requirements High school graduate. Previous telephone operator experience preferred or experience handling a high volume of telephone calls. Computer literate with proven skills using WindowsXP; keyboard proficiency required. Basic office equipment skills required. Ability to wear a headset and sit for long periods with limited mobility. Proven customer service skills and excellent problem‑solving skills. Excellent voice modulation and grammar. Flexible, able to work under stressful conditions, and organize multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
