Staff Pathologist

Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is seeking a full-time Staff Pathologist to join their team of 24 board-certified pathologists. This position offers the opportunity to work in a community hospital with a cancer program and a wide range of clinical services, contributing to over 4 million test results annually across the system. The role is based in Danbury, Connecticut, and is an employed position with Northwell Health Physician Partners, offering a competitive compensation and benefits package.Practice InfoStaff pathologist at a community hospital with cancer program and wide range of clinical services that is part of a comprehensive health system.Part of a group of 24 board-certified pathologists across the system.Testing volume across the system is over 4 million test results per year (inclusive of approximately 50,000 surgical pathology cases).Hosts a pathology residency program at the Danbury Campus and PA students from Quinnipiac University at Norwalk and Danbury campuses.Growing cancer institute that brings interesting and varied cases.Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year.ResponsibilitiesProficiency in the performance of frozen sections.Cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN).Rapid on-site cytology assessments.Occasional autopsies.CompensationFull-Time Salary Range: $325,000 - $360,000 annually commensurate or relative to experience.Per Diem Opportunities also available at $225/hour.Competitive base salary and incentive compensation.BenefitsBenefits package including paid time off, CME allowance with time off and 401k with match.Shift & ScheduleFull TimeRequirementsMD or DO and completion of AP/CP Residency training.Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required.Candidates with subspecialty training and/or experience are encouraged to apply.Both experienced pathologists and those in fellowships are encouraged to apply.Excellent communication skills with a strong desire to interact with clinicians and laboratory staff.CT and NY State Medical License or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted medical license.
