In the position of Respiratory Therapist, you will be pivotal in assisting patients through both standard care and critical situations. Your responsibilities will include conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while overseeing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various healthcare environments. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Evaluating respiratory conditions by conducting focused examinations, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and identifying the necessity for respiratory interventions.
• Administering evidence-based therapies by delivering oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with the placement of artificial airways, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and reacting swiftly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Assisting patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and their families, serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and aiding in the stabilization of newborns during deliveries when necessary.
• Ensuring equipment and safety by setting up, operating, and sanitizing respiratory equipment; guaranteeing readiness and preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection prevention protocols.

• Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner certification, or a Bachelor’s or Associate Degree.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS Instructor certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
