Project Manager - ArchitectureWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a licensed Architect to join our Land Development team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. The Project Manager - Architecture researches, plans, designs and administers building projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. The candidate should be a self-starter, driven, high performer with good communication skills.Our ideal candidate will have 8+ years of architecture design and project management experience supporting design projects. This position is responsible for complex design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and growth of a team.Requirements:Consults with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction timeVisits project site to become familiar with existing conditionsPrepares fee proposals and time, cost and staffing budgets for project for Department Head approvalDirects and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budgetPlans layout of project and integrating engineering elements into unified design for client review and approvalPrepares scale drawings and contract documents for building contractorsRepresents client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contractAdministers construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plansPrepares studies and reportsPrepares project designs and plans using computer assisted design software and equipmentDirects activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documentsResolves client problems and complaints and provides technical advice to project staffPerforms final quality assurance/buildability review of project documentsSigns and seals project documents prepared under his supervisionUnderstands and obeys site safety requirements for construction sitesRequired Skills:Knowledge of the art and science of designing buildings and structures, styles of design, and methods of construction of buildings and other physical structuresAbility to read, analyze, and interpret written communication, specifications and drawingsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the publicAbility to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or government regulationsProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other discipline specific softwareProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite productsValid drivers license and a satisfactory driving recordQualifications:Bachelors degree from a five-year college or universityArchitectural license in respective state and current NCARB record which must be maintained on an ongoing basis8+ years of progressive experience in architecture designAbout Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
