Fire Alarm Inspector/Technician Role

Job Title: Low Voltage Inspector / Service Technician Job Summary The Low-voltage Inspector / Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing, and maintaining low-voltage and fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. This role includes performing corrective service work, troubleshooting system issues, and completing other duties as assigned to support company operations and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures Conduct service and repair work on fire alarm systems, including troubleshooting system faults and replacing defective components Identify code violations, system deficiencies, and potential safety issues; clearly document findings Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and test records accurately and on time Communicate inspection results, required repairs, and recommendations to customers and internal teams Coordinate with service managers, project teams, and customers to schedule inspections and repairs Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicles in safe and working condition Follow all safety policies and procedures while working on job sites Provide basic customer training or guidance on system operation when needed Support emergency service calls and after-hours work as required Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred) Low-voltage inspection and service experience required Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 72, and applicable local fire codes Applicable state or NICET certification required Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including construction sites Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods Work Environment Commercial and industrial job sites Exposure to varying weather conditions Occasional after-hours, night, or weekend work may be required We are an equal opportunity employer.
