About the Position

Job Title

Surgical Technician

Location

Phoenix, AZ (may float between multiple campuses in the greater Phoenix area, including Glendale, AZ and Avondale, AZ)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 4x10s, 40 hrs/week | Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (with on-call requirements on weekends and potentially weekday nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical functions and duties to ensure availability of necessary supplies and equipment for surgical procedures
• Maintain a sterile field throughout operating procedures in accordance with established protocols
• Support surgical teams in a pediatric operating room environment
• Float between multiple campus locations as assigned to meet operational needs
• Adhere to infection control policies, including masking protocols during respiratory virus season as required

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program, or an equivalent 1:1 combination of post-secondary education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technician experience in a surgery setting
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric operating room experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to comply with flu vaccination requirements (October through April) or complete an approved exemption and masking protocol

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume or multi-campus pediatric surgical environment
• Comfort with on-call scheduling, including weekend and weekday night availability
