- Assist the credit union in meeting its overall business plan goals and maximizing loan profitability within the capital risk limitations of the credit union. Assist in expanding credit product offerings and create efficiencies in the credit union's credit delivery and risk monitoring processes.
- Review and analyze financial and credit information, such as financial statements, tax returns and credit reports to determine creditworthiness for borrowers and guarantors. Determine the need for a more thorough investigation or additional information and contact appropriate sources for such information.
- Prepare detailed financial and analytical reports for each entity analyzed, including historical financial data and trends, detailed cash flow analysis, global cash flow analysis, and simple projections.
- Research pertinent industry and market information relevant to members' lines of business.
- Prepare a written summary of analysis for new and existing loan relationships, especially regarding the sufficiency of cash flow, collateral and other repayment sources. Assess overall strengths and weaknesses of credit relationship.
- Exercise independent judgement on client relationship credit analysis and take appropriate resulting action. Communicate key analytical findings and opinions to business lenders, management, and VP of Business Credit.
- Assist in monitoring credit files, such as periodic financial statements, borrowing base certificates, accounts receivable aging, and other items as required by the loan documents. Ensure that covenant compliance and financial reporting requirements are addressed.
- Provide technical assistance to Business Lenders and members. Attend joint calls with business lenders and/or members to gather more information about the business.
- Meet with current or prospective members as needed and/or required on material credits to assist in evaluation of credit or to more clearly communicate the credit union's risk tolerance.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding credit union services and/or account discrepancies. Obtain and route necessary information to support departments for extensive account research and/or adjustments. Work closely with other departments in obtaining information and ascertaining necessary corrections. Coordinate a response to member inquiries and ensure prompt answers.
- Ensure business lending functions exceed member service expectations by understanding the credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators and taking the necessary actions to achieve the desired results in the areas of member service quality, loan growth, and internal/external audits.
- Present leads to the Loan Committee. Attend the meetings of the Board of Directors as needed, attend all risk management committee meetings, and participate in other committees designated by the President and CEO.
- Work proactively and effectively with the credit union's regulators and external auditors to ensure the credit union maintains healthy regulatory ratings and audit relationships.
- Consistently apply good decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 7 years of applicable experience in credit analysis and/or portfolio management in a commercial lending environment. Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities. Sound understanding of business, business real estate, and related lending, including loan risk rating, portfolio monitoring, asset recovery, and loan work outs. Proven credit analysis skills with the ability to analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and tax returns. Knowledge of loan structure, pricing, and collateral analysis including knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis preferred. Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image as representative of the Credit Union. Ability to succeed in a high stress environment and meet goals and objectives. Demonstrate persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles to best serve our members. Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for employees in a positive manner to ensure maximum productivity and success. Technologically Astute - Must demonstrate the ability to use technology to effectively and efficiently perform job functions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required. Considerable judgment and a high level of experience in making sound decisions is required. Must analyze complicated factual situations, apply functional principles and develop solutions. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and can support and explain reasoning for decisions. Advanced mathematical skills required (ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.)
